Scars
Scars are distinct,
Something everyone has,
All individual,
Yet all take separate paths,
Some mental or physical,
But all last for eternity,
Implanted by others,
Or by you in uncertainty
I have a burn and a bite,
Some scars heavy some scars light,
Medication and creme,
Can fix all these things,
But what will never be gone,
Are memories that ring,
The time when I was lost,
Didn't know where to turn,
Until finally I one day learn,
There are times when I have been the knife,
And caused some one else to be blue,
I pushed someone down,
And have started a rumor or two,
But in the end I would help them through,
Yet I always knew,
Scars last incessantly,
No matter how much surgery you get,
They will mark you eternally,
But yet on the other had,
They aren't always viewed grudgingly,
My burn is in the shape of a heart,
A lasting work of art,
I have learned from my mistakes,
And now forever smart,
The people I have hurt are now my best friends,
Forgiven more than once,
I have no reason to pretend,
A scar can paint a thousand paintings,
A painting will speak a million words,
When all the words are heard,
A scar can finally be cured,
Because with life and all it's mysteries that fall,
A scar is the most mysterious of all.
